Where to Get Papers

You can add papers to DeepPaper AI from several academic sources. Here's what we support and how to use them.

Adding Papers by Link

You can add papers directly from these sources:

arXiv

arXiv is Cornell University's open-access preprint site. It covers physics, math, computer science, biology, finance, stats, engineering, and economics.

How to add:

  • Copy the arXiv paper link
  • Example: https://arxiv.org/abs/2106.09685
  • Paste it into DeepPaper AI's "Paper Link" box

What you get:

  • Full paper text and metadata
  • Fast processing
  • Access to latest preprints

medRxiv

medRxiv is a preprint site for medical research, run by Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. It focuses on medicine and health sciences.

How to add:

  • Copy the medRxiv paper link
  • Example: https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2024.07.17.24310418v1
  • Paste it into DeepPaper AI's "Paper Link" box

What you get:

  • Full paper text and metadata
  • Great for medical researchers
  • Quick access to new medical research

PubMed

PubMed is a free search engine from the U.S. National Library of Medicine. It mainly covers biomedical research.

How to add:

  • Copy the PubMed paper link
  • Example: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31851653
  • Paste it into DeepPaper AI's "Paper Link" box

What you get:

  • Paper metadata and available full text
  • Direct access to open-access papers
  • You might need to upload PDFs for paywalled papers

Adding PDF Files

You can also upload PDFs directly. This works well for:

  • Papers saved on your computer
  • Papers from sources we don't support yet
  • Papers behind paywalls
  • Internal or unpublished reports

PDF Requirements

For best results, your PDF should be:

  • Standard PDF format
  • 10MB-100MB (depends on your plan)
  • Academic papers or research reports
  • Digital PDFs (not scans) work best

Tips for Best Results

  1. Use the original PDF, not a scanned copy
  2. Don't use password-protected PDFs
  3. For multi-column papers, use the publisher's version
  4. Note: Papers with lots of math, charts, or special symbols might not parse perfectly

What We Don't Support

To keep quality high, we don't support:

  • Non-academic content (news, blogs)
  • Scanned PDFs without text
  • Password-protected PDFs
  • Non-research content (books, poems)
  • Files over the size limit

Common Questions

What if my paper source isn't supported?

If we don't support your source:

  1. Download the PDF
  2. Upload it using the "Upload PDF" feature

Why isn't my PDF parsing well?

This might happen if:

  • Your PDF is a scan, not a digital file
  • It has complex charts or formatting
  • The file might be corrupted

What languages work?

DeepPaper AI works best with English papers. We support some other languages, but results may vary.
