Adding New Papers

You can add papers to DeepPaper AI in two ways. Here's how to do it.

Quick Start

No matter how you add papers, the steps are similar:

  1. Sign in to your account
  2. Click "Add Paper" at the top
  3. Pick how you want to add it (link or PDF)
  4. Fill in the details
  5. Click "Create Paper"

Adding with Links

You can add papers directly from academic websites.

Where to Get Links

We support links from:

  • arXiv (like https://arxiv.org/abs/2106.09685)
  • medRxiv (like https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2024.07.17.24310418v1)
  • PubMed (like https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31851653)

How to Add

  1. Find the "Paper Link" box
  2. Paste the full link
  3. Click "Create Paper"
  4. We'll download and process the paper

Tips

  • Make sure to copy the whole link
  • If the link doesn't work, you'll see an error message

Adding PDF Files

Got a PDF saved on your computer? You can upload it directly.

How to Upload

  1. Find the "Upload PDF" section
  2. Click to choose a file
  3. Pick your PDF
  4. Click "Create Paper"
  5. We'll process the PDF

File Rules

  • PDF files only
  • Size limits: 10MB-100MB (depends on your plan)
  • Use text PDFs (not scans) for best results

Common Problems

If your upload fails, check for:

  • File too big
  • Wrong file type
  • Corrupted PDF

You'll see error messages to help fix any issues.

What Happens Next

After you add a paper, we'll:

  1. Download the PDF (if you used a link)
  2. Extract the text
  3. Run basic analysis

This usually takes 30 seconds to 2 minutes. When it's done, you can see the results on the paper's page.

Fixing Problems

If something goes wrong:

  1. Check your link format
  2. Make sure your PDF meets the size and format rules
  3. Wait a bit longer for big papers
  4. Try a different PDF if the text isn't coming through right
